For what feels like the first time in forever I am actually reading a series continuously (Well so far the third and fourth book in this series) and it feels weird but what did I think of the fourth book in the trials of apollo series?
Though he and his friends (some of them) have emerged from the Burning Maze, rescued the Oracle and lived to fight another day, they can’t escape the tragedy that has befallen them, or the terrible trials still to face.
So, with heavy heart, Apollo (OK, Lester) and Meg have a triumvirate still to defeat, oracles to rescue, and prophecies to decipher, so that the world may be saved, and Lester may ascend into the heavens to become Apollo once again.
But, right now, Caligula is sailing to San Francisco to deal with Camp Jupiter personally, and they have to get their first. Or risk its destruction . .
Taken from goodreads
I am loving the fact we are getting more and more old characters being reintroduced, it is great to be able to read about these characters that we had grown up with and seeing how they are doing after the events of Percy Jackson and HoO, I am sort of scared and looking forward to the final book in the series as I don’t know what is going to happen especially with the events that we have had so far.
The story once again will have you on your toes and you just dont know what is going to happen next, one page you might be laughing at some stupid remark that Apollo has made or you might be close to crying as Rick has done something very horrible to one of your favourite characters.
The amazing continuous growth of Apollo character is still great to see, and to have it being mentioned by other gods just goes to show the difference in him from the first book to now, slowly but surely this series is creeping up in the rankings for me.
It does an okay job in leading into a finale of the series but personally I think that Rick could of given us a little bit less information to make it seem a little bit darker instead of the what we were given as it would of made me want to jump straight into the finale instead of willing to take a day of the series.
