Before I went to go and see this movie in the cinema I was up till 3:30am watching infinity war and catching up with everything Marvel just to be able to enjoy the movie the way it was meant to. Anyway, it is time for a review.
The movie takes place almost straight after the events of infinity war and we get to see what has become of people after the Thanos snap and how they are coping. After this the movie shoots forwards 5 years and lets us see how the world is doing after the loss of 3.5 billion people. We also get to see how the Avengers are doing now that they are a few people down and still trying to save the world. It is at this time that Scott Lang has been released from the quantum realm and finds out what has happened. When he finds out what has happened he goes to the avengers headquarters and talks to Natasha and Steve about a way he thinks he is able to bring everyone back from Thanos Snap.
For me the story of the movie was so intense from start to finish and it makes you sit there and take every single little bit in just so you are able to understand what is happening as at every moment something else will happen and it is almost certain that you might not understand a single word that is being said. Not only that but you get to see just how far some characters have come since their first movie or first time being seen in the MCU. Take Iron man for example he was someone who was rash and made stupid decisions all the time but somehow managed to make them work. In Endgame he is almost the opposite, he finds a life he is happy with, this includes his wife and daughter. He is the only person that people know who is clever enough to be able to solve the time travel riddle and only does so after talking to his wife and daughter, he also makes the sacrifice for himself to make sure that his wife and daughter get to live and the world can go back to being semi normal.
The acing is on a whole new level as I dont think a single person did a single thing wrong throughout the whole movie. I am going to go with Iron Man again and say that Robert Downey Jr did the performance of his career in this movie and if anyone says anything different then they are simply doing so for some sort of attention and need to grow the fuck up. He did everything right, so did Tom Holland, Scarlett Johansson, Chris Evans, Chris Pratt, Chris Hemsworth, etc. This is what I come to expect from actors in a movie now as anything less will be awful to watch.
I am not going to talk a lot about the CGI as we all know at this point that with marvel the CGI is pretty much perfect every single time. But what I am going to talk about is that battle at the end of the movie and say something that is probably going to make a lot of people angry but the battle in endgame is better than the battle of Helms from lord of the rings. I cant compare to the game of thrones ones yet as I have yet to see them but dear god that battle/war was simply beautiful in every possible way.
This is the best ending to a series I have ever seen and will probably ever see as I don’t think they could’ve made it any better. Well expect for one thing and that would of been to have Luis do a recap before the movie started but that is just a little bit of fun. Trust me when I say that Avengers: Endgame is the best ending to a series/ one of the greatest movies ever then I mean it.
The true hero of endgame is the rat
