I am Number Four by Pittacus Lore

This is a series I have read before but since I haven’t reviewed it on this sight yet I thought it was about time for a re-read. Anyway it is time for a review.

Nine of us came here. We look like you. We talk like you. We live among you. But we are not you. We can do things you dream of doing. We have powers you dream of having. We are stronger and faster than anything you have ever seen. We are the superheroes you worship in movies and comic books–but we are real.

Our plan was to grow, and train, and become strong, and become one, and fight them. But they found us and started hunting us first. Now all of us are running. Spending our lives in shadows, in places where no one would look, blending in. We have lived among you without you knowing.

But they know.

They caught Number One in Malaysia.

Number Two in England.

And Number Three in Kenya.

They killed them all.

I am Number Four.

I am next.

Taken from goodreads

It is the idea behind the story that made me want to read the book. Aliens have come to earth in order to hide from another race of aliens which have destroyed their planet. To make everything even more action packed they have got powers. This to me sounds like my perfect book as it has got every little thing I like in a story.

When you start reading the book you will instantly notice the amount of detail that the author goes into with each part of the book. In a book like this then it really is needed as without this amount of detail the whole book would just feel rushed and you would struggle to imagine what the Mogadorians looks like, what Johns powers look like or even more importantly what Bernie Kosar looks like.

For me the best part is the last 100 pages, this is where all the build up in the book leads to and when it happens it happens with a bang. In those 100 pages people die, hearts are broken and people leave. It has literally everything and if for some reason you have read this book and didnt almost cry at the end then trust me when I say you have got a heart of stone as I was almost a weeping baby.

I am looking forward to being able to start the next book in the series and get my teeth back into this series as the re read has made me realise just how much of it I have forgotten. Trust me when I say if you are a fan of fantasy and YA then you will need to get this book in your collection.
