After liking the first season I wanted to get into the second season which thankfully has 22 episodes which means we get more goodness from the office right? Anyway, it is time for a review.
We get to the see the budding romance continue between Jim and Pam but at the same time Pam’s boyfriend is getting ready to set a date for their wedding which is crushing Jim. Dwight might be having a secret relationship but no one knows who with and Michael is doing everything he can to still show everyone he is the funniest man ever.
During the first season I had mixed feelings about Michael as sometimes I liked the comedy style he brought to the show but at others I wished he would just go away and let everyone else get on with their lives without him having to make a joke or make it about himself every 20 seconds. Now that this season is longer and we get to see more of him I came to the decision that I really don’t like him as a character, he lacks empathy which is needed in a funny character as yes it is great making jokes all the time but if you can’t pick your moments then you need to stop talking which is exactly how I feel about Michael Scott as a character.
The rest of the cast I think are great as each and every one of them brings something to the table and makes the show that much more enjoyable. Seeing how this show has 9 seasons I hope to see some sort of character growth from Micheal in this time.
The two main story lines that I liked from this season were who is Dwight in a relationship and seeing him try his hardest in keeping it a secret from everyone, and Jim and Pam. This is what I want from an office comedy show, I want to see people get closer together and for their to be drama every now and then and from this season alone they are doing a great job in doing so.
The best acting from the show once again comes from Jim (John Krasinski) and Pam (Jenna Fischer) but mainly in the final episode of the season as it leaves us with a very big cliffhanger and I loved every single second of it and couldn’t take my eyes away from the screen.
From the ending alone I am wanting to get straight into the next season and find out how the office is going to be after the season ending. When Michael is not in the picture I am loving this series and can’t wait to start the next one. I’ve been Aaron Morrsi and I’ll see you next time.
